For those of you that don't know, I accepted a job at Tallgrass Brewing Company last week. I was pretty excited about it, but dare I say, a little niave about what I was signing up for. Yesterday, after my first (10 hour) day on the job, I got a call from another company in Manhattan offering me $2/hr more, better hours, and less-sucky work. I've been pretty much in turmoil over the decision ever since.Have I learned anything from this? Yes - don't be stupid.. and do your homework before accepting a job. I was so excited just to get a job - I had been turned down for like 15 consecutive jobs prior - that I took it pretty much no questions asked. Also, I was a little niave, I didn't know what clicking 8-packs and cleaning kegs was like - how tough could it be? Finally, never undervalue the importance of air conditioning.. enough said.
I'll repost soon to tell you my final decision and how things turned out. Until then, cheers.
Ah, you should've been at JJ Heller! It was a really nice setting at the Wareham. I didn't quite know about it either until a week before.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with Jobs, Brian :). I'll be anxious to hear where you end up using your talents!
